This photo was taken in a series pitting Ferris against Northwood on April 19. The Dawgs swept Northwood by winning 5-3 in the first game then 4-2 in the second. This photo earned 1st place in the sports photo category in the Michigan Press Association’s “Better Newspaper Contest.”
